Education
LEDS and Limbach have vast experience in K-12 design and construction. Our experience includes, but is not limited to, the renovation of existing school facilities through a complete refurbishment or performance contracting.
Roosevelt High School
Location: Washington D.C.
Delivery Method: Design Assist LEDS Engineers and BIM Specialists provided services to the local branch of Limbach during the renovation of Roosevelt High School. The objective of this total building renovation was achieving LEED Gold Certification. LEDS Engineers provided cost reduction solutions that reduced the installed cost of the building systems without compromising performance or the certification goals.

Waverly Schools
Location: Waverly, OH Delivery Method: Design Build Limbach was hired by the Waverly school district to renovate the infrastructure of a number of schools in the district. The cost of the renovation was completely funded by a Statewide program which repurposed operational cost savings. As the Engineer of Record, LEDS provided professional engineering services for the project. Energy cost savings far exceeded expectations.

School Without Walls
Location: Washington D.C. Delivery Method: Design Build Limbach and LEDS provided engineering, design, construction and commissioning for the renovation of the Grant School, a historic structure originally built in 1882. After a design-bid-build method failed to achieve costs below the budget, Limbach was hired to provide a cost-effective solution. The project was completed below budget (including the redesign fees) while achieving the desired LEED Gold Certification.

Higher education projects, namely those involving colleges and universities, typically utilize the design-assist or design-build delivery method.
Villages at University of Southern California
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Delivery Method: Design Assist Engineers at LEDS participated during the design phase of this project. Utilizing their Target Value Solution approach, LEDS assisted the design team with alternative solutions and Best Value engineering. The collaborative approach resulted in reduced construction costs, schedule float and improved system performance.
